From Pilot Project to Future Factory: How the Right Pump Strategy Makes the Difference
In today’s industry, some of the most innovative ideas start where you least expect them: waste streams.
What was once seen as waste is now increasingly viewed as a valuable resource.
This was exactly the case in a recent pilot project, where a client wanted to recover a specific product from their residual flow.
The challenge: moving fast in a changing market
The challenge was clear: design and build a pilot installation within a very short time.
Thanks to the extensive Iwaki Belgium stock we were able to deliver some pumps directly from stock.
This allowed us to respond quickly to changing needs and keep the project timeline on track.
If successful, this pilot could grow into a full production plant.
Not just another supplier, but a trusted partner
For this project, the client was not looking for just any supplier. They needed a partner who makes well-considered choices—someone focused on high-quality A-brands instead of comparing many different manufacturers.
Thanks to a previous collaboration, the project engineer already knew our way of working.
That level of trust—clients coming back to us with complex pump challenges—is what drives us every day.
A diverse pumping challenge
This pilot installation required several specialized pumping solutions, including:
- Flocculants
- Lime milk
- Recirculation processes
- …
Each of these applications had its own requirements for chemical resistance, accuracy, and reliability.
As part of this project, we supplied the following pumps:
- Iwaki Mag drive MDM-pump – for transfer
- Iwaki Mag drive MXM-pump – for transfer
- Boyser AMP22 hose pump – for recirculation
- Blue-White peristaltic dosing pump – for lime milk dosing
- Iwaki IX-dosing pump – for accurate chemical dosing
All pumps were carefully selected to match the exact needs of the process.
The synergy between Iwaki Belgium and Flowtec
By combining our product ranges and expertise, we were able to select the right pump for every application.
